After more than 30 years teaching in Early Childhood classrooms, and working my way forward with education and experiences, I have seen the best and the worst in teaching. I now understand what a high quality classroom should look like, and the importance of using research based teaching practices as tools in classroom management. Teachers who are equipped with these tools teach skills and give students the gift of self regulation and a mind for learning.
In Early childhood classrooms adults become 'brain builders' because the age of birth to six is most important with rapid brain development. The outcomes for a child is based on the opportunities they get from the environment and the people who provide care. What adults do in classrooms (and at home) with preschoolers matter!
The ECE profession is not given justice as it deserves. A few years ago I decided to support the ECE workforce not just through coaching and teaching, but also advocating for them to receive livable wages and easy access to education. Supporting and investing in the workforce means supporting and investing in the child.
In partnership with Conklin Educational Perspectives we offer many types of workshops and coaching sessions. We work with your needs and budget to provide a professional development package to empower your early childhood professionals because EVERY child DESERVES a GREAT teacher by DESIGN.
